I fell in love with art and painting at age 7 at my first visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I was astounded by the paintings, each one was a stunning window into another world. I knew that I wanted to paint and draw: to be an artist.

As a teen, I enrolled at the Art Students League and studied with Jean Liberte, John Fogarty, Jr, and drawing with Marshall Glazer.

At 17, I applied for a full, 3- year Fine Art Merit Scholarship at The School of Visual Arts in NYC, and I was one of 3 scholarship winners. I attended SVA and then attended The City College of New York earning a degree in Art History, with a minor in World History.

Over the next years, I free-lanced in editorial art. My photo-collages were published in The New York Times, The Book Review, Natural History Magazine, etc. I also created props for commercial photographers, which was wonderful fun, and puppets for off-off Broadway, I had a one person show of collages in a Brooklyn gallery. I have helped create local community celebrations for Halloween and other events.

I have learned traditional egg tempera technique from a true master, Douglas Safranek, and I have painted with Bob Cenendella, Joe Peller, Koo Schadler and Margaret McCann and learned colored pencil technique with Lisa Dinhofer.
